Catching Up

Well, it's been a while. Our  group has been still meeting, planning and sewing. We have had another presentation of quilts celebrating our 2nd birthday, where we donated over 40 quilts to a local Salvation Army nursing home. That was way back in July 2014. That makes over 80 quilts that we have donated to charity in just two years. More quilts are being made ready for another presentation.

We have just had our third meeting for 2015, and Angela had made this lovely reversed appliqué bag. This was a group project for our February meeting, provided by Judy, who originally found the instructions in a Machine Embroidery magazine. We should have some pics of more bags soon.

Jan has been working on this quilt for a family member. Featuring birds, the quilt has been made in strips which were individually quilted, then joined together in the quilt-as -you-go method. It features both piecing and appliqué

Jan has also made this travelling iron caddy. Made using a teflon fabric on the inside, it folds up and buttons closed, ready to take a hot iron home from a workshop.

Perhaps people reading this might like to come join our group. Our next meeting is on:-
